Help “pave the way” for The Green-House at Green-Wood with a gift that inscribes your own special message and your name—or that of someone you’d like to honor—on a granite curbstone along the pathway leading into the building.

Opening in spring 2026 directly across from Green-Wood’s main entrance, The Green-House will be a hub for visitor welcome, public programs, research, education, exhibitions, and more—blending the restored Victorian-era Weir Greenhouse with a striking new building.

Only 74 curbstone plaques are available. Inscribe your place in Green-Wood’s story and help celebrate this exciting new chapter!

For more information on supporting The Green-House campaign or for a complete list of Naming Opportunities within the building, please email Penelope Duus, Director of Development, or call 718-210-3073.

FAQs

What can I put on my plaque?
After you make your donation, your receipt email will contain a link to the form where you can submit your inscription. The plaque can accommodate 5 lines of text, 25 characters each (including spaces and punctuation). You do not need to use all lines. The font size and weight are standard across plaques; different font sizes, bold, italics, underlining, and all caps are not permitted. Plaques are made from durable stainless steel and will be installed by our expert restoration team.

Can I select a location for my curbstone?
We’re unable to take specific placement requests.

When will my plaque be placed?
If you make your donation and submit your inscription in 2025, your plaque will be placed in time for The Green-House’s grand opening in spring 2026. If any pavers remain available after the initial order, plaques will be ordered monthly and placed when they arrive. These orders will take 6-8 weeks from the time you submit your inscription until plaque placement. You will be notified when your plaque is placed.

How long will my plaque stay on the pathway?
Plaques will remain for the useful life of the pathway. Plaques that are damaged will be replaced at no cost to you.

Can I change my plaque once it has been placed?
Yes. A fee to help cover the cost of creating and installing the new plaque will apply. To request a replacement plaque, please email Penelope Duus, Director of Development, or call 718-210-3073.
