People like you provide crucial support at a time when The Green-Wood Historic Fund is serving more people in our community than ever before.
Here is how we're making an impact:
Extended Hours – To provide a safe place for physically distanced walks, all four of Green-Wood’s entrances are open every day of the week—for the first time ever.
Preservation and Restoration – Our expert conservators and talented preservation students safeguard the legacy of our extraordinary “outdoor museum”. And through our Bridge to Crafts Careers program, we're training the next generation of preservationists.
Pre-K–12 Education Programs – With over 100,000 monuments, 8,000 trees, and countless stories, students see art, nature, and history come alive. Now presenting free virtual classes to help students in need!
Environmental Initiatives – Planting trees and caring for "veteran trees" ensures this landscape remains for future Brooklynites to enjoy. Meanwhile, research with partners such as Cornell University, the American Museum of Natural History, and the US Forest Service is making an impact far beyond our gates.
Arts and Cultural Programming – We present a varied calendar of virtual and in-person arts, cultural, and historical programs year-round, created with our diverse and growing audience in mind.
Historical Research – Our World War II Project seeks to identify every WWII veteran at Green-Wood. It builds on our World War I and Civil War Projects, which have already identified and told the stories of over 5,000 veterans!
And much more!
